Academic GIS Projects | Independent UAV Surveying
Alongside my professional experience in civil engineering and construction surveying, I have developed an interest in geospatial technology, digital mapping and UAV-based surveying.
My knowledge in these areas has been developed through formal academic study, independent learning and practical exploration of surveying technologies.
As part of my Level 8 Certificate in Digital Mapping and Geographical Information Systems at Atlantic Technological University (ATU), I have completed practical assignments involving spatial analysis, geographic data processing and cartographic presentation.
These projects have allowed me to develop my understanding of how geographic information systems can support engineering, infrastructure planning and spatial decision-making.
QGIS, ArcGIS Pro and related geospatial data processing tools.
I have independently pursued an interest in UAV surveying and photogrammetry, using a DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise equipped with RTK capabilities.
My focus has been on understanding how drone-based data collection and photogrammetric processing can be integrated with conventional engineering surveying methods.
DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise with RTK module, WebODM, Agisoft Metashape, Pix4D, QGIS and AutoCAD.
My continued development in GIS and UAV surveying reflects my interest in combining traditional civil engineering knowledge with modern digital technologies.
I am particularly interested in applying these skills to civil infrastructure design, engineering surveying and digital construction.
